EXPERIENCE

Dr. John Trzupek joined Bain Capital in 2025. He is a Managing Director on the Life Sciences team.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, John was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Abata Therapeutics. Earlier he was the Chief Business Officer at KSQ Therapeutics.  Prior to his leadership roles in biotech, John held several business and scientific roles at Pfizer, most recently as Director of Strategy, inflammation and immunology. He began his career as a Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

EDUCATION

John received a PhD in organic chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute where he was a National Defense Science and Engineering (NDSEG) predoctoral fellow.  He received an MBA with high honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business where he was an Amy and Richard F. Wallman Scholar.  He graduated with honors from Northwestern University with a BA in chemistry
